Elio Peraza joined CentroNía in 2015 and currently oversees the delivery of the organization’s health support services to its children, families, and staff. As CentroNía’s point person for all things healthcare, Elio works with Early Head Start, Pre-K, and other programs and departments to safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of the CentroNía community. In addition to being known as the “on-site nurse”, he develops educational health programming, delivers trainings and workshops, and engages with the community and stakeholders with the end goal of improving affordable healthcare access and quality for all. Most recently, Elio has successfully led CentroNía’s efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing technical and operational support, ensuring the organization adjusts its operations effectively and responds in adherence with regulatory guidance.
Before joining CentroNia, Elio worked at different hospitals and private practices in the D.C. area, where he developed an affinity for the clinical and business sides of healthcare.
Elio is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management and Administration from the University of Maryland – Global Campus.
