Bea Zuluaga is a non-profit food entrepreneur, educator and community organizer dedicated to improving access to high quality local food for low-income children and their families. Bea has led CentroNía’s Food and Wellness Department since 2010, a role in which she oversees nutritional education for teachers and families, while also managing NiaCentral, an in-house catering business that produces and distributes two thousand USDA-compliant meals a day. Under Bea’s leadership, CentroNía’s Food and Wellness Department has earned significant local and national recognition.
Prior to CentroNía, Bea developed and taught “garden to kitchen” programs for youth, adult cooking classes, and safe food handling to people in the industry. Her travels in Asia and Latin America have deepened her appreciation of the urban and rural need to access fresh, nutritious foods that support the local community.
