This Spaghetti Bolognese is full of the flavors of the ground: Whole onions, garlic, carrots and tomatoes go in this. Skip the Italian restaurant next time and try this at home!

Spaghetti Bolognese (Serves 4)

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 lb minced lean beef
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • salt and pepper
  1. Heat oil in pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until slightly caramelized. Add chopped carrots.
  2. Add minced beef and garlic. Cook until the beef is no longer pink.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and put on lid until the tomatoes are softened. Try to mash it until it becomes a thick tomato sauce.
  4. Add 1/2 cup chicken stock and simmer for 10-15 mins.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste. Top with fresh basil or herbs and serve over warm pasta. Enjoy!
