CentroNía recently announced the availability for the free use of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. The Care Mobile operates in partnership with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and provides services in vulnerable communities.
Services provided include:
- Checkups
- Sick visits
- School physical exams
- Routine immunizations
- Child advocacy
- Healthy education
- Referral to specialists
- Vision and hearing
- Mental health screening and referral
All children under the age of 21 are eligible for care provided by the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and there are several sites close to subsidized housing and at emergency shelters.
While Washington D.C. as a whole might not struggle with access to healthcare insurance, there are still some families who can’t afford to send their children to hospitals, clinics, or dentists regularly for checkups. Furthermore, there is not always quick and easy access to doctors or dentists for children that need them. The Care Mobile provides affordable, accessible care to communities throughout the District of Columbia.
If your child is sick, no appointment is required and can be seen at any of their locations. If your child is in need of a checkup or shots, an appointment is required and can be made by phone or by dropping by the Mobile Clinic to schedule one. Appointments can be made from 8am to 4:30pm at 202-444-8888
