MOYA Design Partners (MOYA)an architecture and design firm, was selected by the Martha Gudelsky Child Development Center (MGCDC) and CentroNía partnership to transform the former Silver Spring library site into a state-of-the-art early learning center. In line with the vision of the MGCDC, and supported by the Homer and Martha Gudelsky Family Foundation, this high quality childcare facility will feature at least 16 classrooms and serve approximately 180 children aged 0-5 years old while simultaneously respecting the site’s landscape and its neighborhood. The center will also feature a large community room and a commercial kitchen.

Paola Moya is the CEO of Moya Design Partners.

With diversity, philanthropy, and design excellence at the heart of the firm, MOYA makes a special effort to support and work with organizations that advance social causes. The firm also boasts substantial experience in designing enriching educational spaces for early childhood education. CEO and respected designer Paola Moya shares in our excitement about its collaboration with the MGCDC-CentroNía partnership, as she is passionate about giving back to the community by donating time and talent in support of local organizations. As a designer, she strives to understand what inspires and drives her clients in order to create the best, most effective designs.

“As a Latina and a woman in business, I am honored to partner with MGCDC-CentroNía, especially given that childcare is dominated by and values women and diversity at its core. This is an incredible opportunity to utilize our talent and expertise to support the children and families served by CentroNía,” said Paola Moya. “We are excited to translate the organization’s mission and values into the state-of-the-art facility for children and families to learn and grow together.”

The MGCDC-CentroNía childcare program will meet an unmet demand in Montgomery County for high-quality early childhood education. With MOYA’s expertise in designing educational spaces, MGCDC and CentroNía are confident the new center will embody our shared vision: a stimulating space dedicated to the learning and development of our young children, their families, and our community.
