CentroNía is excited to announce that El Tiempo Latino, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in Washington DC, named Myrna Peralta  President and CEO to the Powermeter 100 List.

The Powermeter 100 honors individuals for their contributions to the Hispanic community in the Greater Washingtonarea. The list was selected from a pool of over 400 nominees and judged by a panel of community leaders and El Tiempo Latino’s editorial council.

“It is such an honor to be included in this prestigious list and I accept this award on behalf of the entire CentroNía community,” said Myrna Peralta.

As President & CEO, she leads the strategic vision of CentroNía, a nationally recognized, award-winning educational organization that provides affordable, high-quality bilingual early childhood education; professional development to  early childhood educators; and family support services to more than 2,400 children and families from primarily low-income, working households.

Myrna is a true believer in the power of people, of communities, and of organizations to make a difference, to achieve a vision, and to create a more equitable society. Myrna empowers teachers and parents to be role models for CentroNía’s early learners. As a Latina, Myrna often felt overlooked but she fought hard to achieve her goals. Today, she is inspired whenever she walks into a class and hears, “Good morning, Miss Myrna!”
