November 28-29, 2018 – CentroNía’s Food and Wellness Director, Bea Zuluaga, was recently invited as a special guest and speaker for an international seminar held in Santiago, Chile. The Ministry of Social Development of Chile, through their program Elije Vivir Sano, organized the seminar called “Innovation in public policy in relation to obesity and non-communicable diseases”. Bea was chosen as panel speaker by Elije Vivir Sano (Choose to
Live Healthy) where she spoke about CentroNía’s Food and Wellness program as a model “Innovative initiative for the improvement of the school feeding program”. She presented on how access to local foods impacts the growth and development of young children and their families in an early childhood education setting. Bea’s presentation was well-received by those in attendance at the seminar where she was the only panelist to focus on healthy meals and nutrition education in early childhood. In addition, CentroNía was able to share best practices in food and wellness with an international audience including government officials from various countries.
