Every year CentroNía invites volunteers, families, and children to celebrate Book-O-Ween – a celebration that refocuses the energy of Halloween around the love of reading and learning. This year, we welcomed a great group of volunteers comprised mostly of parents and some college students. Everyone read a book, in English or Spanish, to their assigned classroom and assisted the teachers with a planned activity. After reading everyone marched outside for a short parade where parents, volunteers, and staff worked together to guide the early learners around the block at our Columbia Road site. The CentroNía community is very happy with the excitement around Book-O-Ween, and so grateful to those who supported this special day.
THANK YOU for making Book-O-Ween a success! If you think Book-O-Ween sounds fun and you’d like to volunteer next year, be sure to fill out our volunteer application so we can add you to our list.
