Chili con Carne is known to be a traditional comfort food, but maybe very greasy at times. This recipe which we serve to even our youngest children here at CentroNía, is light and great to be served with brown rice and maybe a baked plantain on the side!

  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Pepper, diced
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 can Kidney Beans
  • 1 can tomatoes, chopped (14.5 ounce)
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup water

  1. Heat pan on medium-high heat with 1 Tbsp Oil. Add onions and peppers. Sauté until translucent.
  2. Add garlic then ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Add spices: cumin, paprika, oregano. Cook for 5 minutes.
