Family Literacy Program
5th Year Anniversary Celebration

What a wonderful year we’ve had!! It was five years ago when we began our Saturday morning tutoring program with 15 students and tutors. Back then the first floor was more than enough space to hold our tutoring sessions.

Five years later, CentroNía hosts two days of tutoring per week and we occupy the entire building on Saturday mornings. In addition, we have expanded our program into two elementary schools and one middle school. The program has grown to serve over 100 student paired up with over 100 tutors and five university partners.

It has been a joy to witness our students flourish as they begin to understand how the process of learning to read well can create change for themselves and for their future. It’s invigorating to witness a student who only three years ago was difficult to place with a tutor. Today that student is applying to one of the best high schools in the area, which involves a rigorous application and interview process.

Thank you to all of our University Partners, Funders, School Administrators and Staff for all of their hard work to make this possible!
