Early Childhood Programs

At CentroNía we believe that all children are entitled to the best care possible. There are very few places in the DC Metropolitan Area that offer infant care, and even fewer that offer this service to very young children in a low-income population in a bilingual setting.

Operating from 7am to 6 pm, the program provides breakfast, enrichment in art, music and movement, lunch, naptime and daily outdoor activities as well as ample opportunities for learning, exploration, creativity and communication. Our program is accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We promote best practices in the field of early childhood education, offering activities that are individualized and directed toward the development different educational domains that are essential for healthy development. These domains include socio-emotional, cognitive, fine and gross motor, communication, numeracy and literacy. We work with the Creative Curriculum which promotes an individualized curriculum, recognizing that each child has his or her own special needs. We utilize a Primary Caregiver model, which promotes strong caregiver-child and peer relationships by ensuring that each child remains with the same caregiver and small group of peers from 3 months to 18 months of age and then 18-36 months.

The Early Childhood Education program provides full day high-quality bilingual care to children ages 3 months to 4 years as it follows:

1- The Infant/Toddler program provides high-quality, nurturing, bilingual care and learning environments for children from 3 months to 3 years of age.

2-  The Pre-K Incentive Program: At CentroNía we are committed to high-quality education and believe that a succesful one starts early in life. For the first time, DC families have access to a unique bilingual and high quality pre-k program for three- and four-year-olds.

3- The DC Bilingual Pre-School offers a bilingual and culturally appropiate opportunity for children to learn and get ready for their entry into kindergarten.

4- Maryland Site: We are extending our service to Montgomery County for all the families that need a qualified program to leave their children while going to work.
