SOL Y CANTO FAMILY CONCERT!

A Musical Family Fiesta!
Saturday, March 4, 2006

Boston’s hottest Latin musical group, Sol y Canto, took the stage for a family show as part of the opening act of CentroNía’s 20th Anniversary Celebration Series on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 3:00pm.

The acclaimed, award-winning Latin music ensemble Sol y Canto (sun and song) presented a family-oriented bilingual concert from their children’s CD El Doble de Amigos/Twice As Many Friends taking listeners on a musical journey from Cuba to the Caribbean to Brazil and back. Sol y Canto will perform a concert of toe-tapping calypso, reggae and merengue music from Latin America and the United States. With their irresistibly singable and danceable high-energy music, Sol y Canto introduces children to the joys of multicultural music. Winners of multiple Boston Music Awards, Parents Choice

Founded in 1994, the heart and soul of Sol y Canto’s music is its lush vocal harmonies, sumptuous Spanish guitar and a combination of Latin rhythms and beautiful ballads performed with excitement and enthusiasm. Led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer/percussionist, Rosi Amador and New Mexico guitarist Brian Amador (accompanied by top musicians from all over Latin America and the Caribbean) their concerts have brought audiences to their feet from the Kennedy Center and White House to the Philadelphia Art Museum, the California World Music Festival, the Vancouver Folk Festival, and Puerto Rico’s Museo de Arte.
