2010-2011
DC Bilingual Public Charter School (DC
Bilingual) is a free public school open to all students
who reside in the
District of Columbia. DC Bilingual currently enrolls
350 students in Pre-Kindergarten (3 year olds)
through 5th grade. For the 2010-2011 school year, DC
Bilingual is accepting applications for all grade levels.
You can apply to DC Bilingual
if:
• You reside in the District of Columbia.
• Your child is eligible to attend Pre-Kindergarten
to 5th grade in fall 2010.
(Children must turn 4 by September 30, 2010 to enter
Pre-Kindergarten for 4 year olds.)
2010 Lottery Application and Enrollment Process and
Timeline
January 5 • 2009-2010 lottery
applications will be available for all potential new
students, including siblings of current DC Bilingual
students. Please Note: spaces are not guaranteed for
siblings of current students.
January 8- 29 • Parents/Guardians
of returning DC Bilingual students must declare intent
to enroll
by completing the enrollment form. Parents/Guardians
of current students who do not return
the intent to enroll form may need to reapply and participate
in the lottery.
Siblings of current DC Bilingual students must submit
a new student application (see Jan. 5 info).
January 5 – April 2 • Complete
applications accepted. No applications will be accepted
after April 3rd. Parents will receive a dated receipt
as evidence that the application
has been received and entered into the lottery.
Tuesday, February 9 • Open House and
School Tour, 9:30-10:15 am
Tuesday, March 9 •
Open House and School Tour, 11:00-11:45 am
Tuesday, April 9 • The Official
DC Bilingual PCS Lottery for 2009 Enrollment will take
place. The public is invited to attend.
Beginning on Monday, April 12th •
Lottery results will be publicly posted in the DC Bilingual
charter office and online at www.dcbilingual.org.
Students awarded admission in the lottery will be informed
via US mail by May 1, 2009. Lottery results will be
updated weekly and will be available in the charter
office or online every Monday at 8 am.
June 2 • DC Bilingual will mail
enrollment packets to all new and returning students.
June 14 – August 13 • ENROLLMENT
SEASON • All new and returning parents must submit
completed enrollment packets including proof of residency
and immunization documentation. Please note that all
students in Kindergarten to 5th grade must have complete
immunization records in order to attend school in the
District of Columbia.
August 30 • First Day of School
